Anti-Malware

What is Malware?

Malware is a short word for malicious software, it is something that is designed to get into your computer without your knowledge. This could include viruses, spyware, trojan horse, worms and many other things. They can do various things such as, stop your computer from working or even steal sensitive data.

How do I know if I have malware?

Your computer may not show any obvious symptoms, as a lot of malware is designed to be sneaky. If there is any change to your computer which is unexplained or it your computer seems to be haunted then there is a very high chance that there is malware running on your computer.

How do I protect myself from malware?

  • Use an anti-malware software, always keep it up to date and scan your computer regularly.
  • Update your computers operating system and any other software regularly.
  • Don’t click on links or go to websites that seem strange or you’re unsure about.
  • Only download from trusted websites
  • Don’t open emails or click on links via social networking websites or IM unless you know the sender and are actually sure the sender is the actual sender.
